About the role


Working within our highly skilled and growing finance team, you will be providing a broad range of financial services within the Energy Networks Division, as well as the wider Energy Unit (EEN).

This is a diverse and stimulating role which will give you the opportunity to develop your career.

You will be supporting the Divisional Accountant, who is responsible for optimising financial management at division level and supporting the unit.

Reporting to the Divisional Accountant, you will be expected to provide broad-ranging financial support, to the Unit Management Accountant, Project Managers, Account Leaders and divisional staff.


Your tasks will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of project invoicing, ensuring all sales invoices are raised in a timely fashion
  • Prepare a rolling 3month cash and billing forecast for your projects.
  • Supporting robust working capital management, including the preparation of relevant reports and analysis, along with liaison with Project Managers for credit control purposes.
  • Assist in the generation of new Clients/Vendors numbers in CRM and the generation and approval of DTI's
  • Assisting in the preparation and issuing of weekly reports for the division.
  • Upload all invoices, credit notes and IET journals into Project SharePoint.
  • Providing support to Project Managers, in relation to Connect & Lawson Projects
  • Process purchase invoices for checking/authorisation for payment
  • Providing support to divisional staff on a range of ad hoc financial matters
  • Completing and signing off monthly task list.
  • Assisting the Divisional Accountant with the preparation of the annual divisional budget.
  • Preparation and posting of financial journals and IET's (if required).
  • Assisting with audit requests.
  • Performing other ad hoc duties as required to support the Divisional Accountant and Unit Management Accountant.
  • About you
To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Financially and commercially aware, with excellent attention to numerical detail.
  • Motivated for a career in accountancy
  • Relevant experience working within a finance department, preferably a multinational organisation
  • An excellent aptitude to working with and supporting colleagues.
  • Able to communicate financial matters (both verbal and written) effectively to a diverse range of individuals, with varying levels of financial literacy.
  • Capable of using specialist financial software, as well as intermediate to advanced competence in Microsoft Office programmes, especially Excel.
  • Able to work to tight month end reporting deadlines.
  • Comfortable embracing a full range of duties from data entry/processing through to reporting financial performance to management.
