Matlock Golf Club is a private members Golf Club with over 500 members, we are expanding our service we offer to both members and visitors.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven person to become Head Cook.


Responsible for the provision of Catering services for the Golf Club, in accordance with the policy laid down by the Board of Directors.


Duties & Roles include:

  • 40 Hour week to include weekends on a rota plus overtime.
  • Responsible to the Bar and Catering Manager and Club Manager through to the Board of Directors.
  • To oversee the day to day running of the "Catering" department to ensure that all areas are operating efficiently and achieving the income generation targets as laid down by the Board of Directors.
  • The preparation of menus to provide both the traditional Club fare and a variety of dishes reflecting seasonal variations or occasions with the main focus on 'homemade' cooked food.
  • To undertake the preparation and delivery of homemade food in conjunction with the menus along with the serving of meals within the golf club lounge and 19th areas.
  • The cleanliness of all food, preparation, and food storage areas, utensils, refrigerators, deep freeze cabinets, cold rooms, cookers and working surfaces, completion of paperwork in accordance with HACCP.
  • Maintenance of the quality of kitchen and dining room equipment, and advising when additional or replacement items are required.
  • Reporting to the Bar and Catering Manager any damage or repairs requiring attention.
  • Maintaining adequate stocks of food within financial parameters laid down by the Board of Directors and the buying of supplies at competitive prices.
  • Issuing written orders for suppliers' invoices in conjunction with the Club Manager.
  • Work with the Bar and Catering manager in order to promote the Club's services and generate additional income from Weddings, Funerals, outside events etc...
  • To attend weekly meetings with the Bar and Catering Manager to discuss pervious months performance and planning ahead.
  • To raise the profile and standards of the Catering department by giving members and visitors a better experience.

Salary:
£13.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Matlock, DE4 5LZ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Chef: 1 year (preferred)
  • Cooking: 2 years (preferred)
  • Kitchen experience: 2 years (preferred)
