Matlock Golf Club is a private members Golf Club with over 500 members, we are expanding our service we offer to both members and visitors.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven person to become Head Cook.


Responsible for the provision of Catering services for the Golf Club, in accordance with the policy laid down by the Board of Directors.


We need someone who is passionate about food and service and must be able to work well on their own and as part of a team.

You will have experience and the appropriate qualifications.


Reporting to the Bar & Catering Manager your duties will include preparing & cooking food for regular functions alongside the daily catering operations within the golf club.


A high level of service and customer care is a priority for the job, while cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards is also essential.


Duties & Roles include:

  • 35 Hour week to include weekends on a rota plus overtime.
  • Responsible to the Bar and Catering Manager and Club Manager through to the Board of Directors.
  • The preparation of menus to provide both the traditional Club fare and a variety of dishes reflecting seasonal variations or occasions with the main focus on 'homemade' cooked food.
  • To undertake the preparation and delivery of homemade food in conjunction with the menus along with the serving of meals within the golf club lounge and 19th areas.
  • The cleanliness of all food, preparation, and food storage areas, utensils, refrigerators, deep freeze cabinets, cold rooms, cookers and working surfaces, completion of paperwork in accordance with HACCP.
  • Maintenance of the quality of kitchen and dining room equipment, and advising when additional or replacement items are required.
  • Reporting to the Bar and Catering Manager any damage or repairs requiring attention.
  • Maintaining adequate stocks of food within financial parameters laid down by the Board of Directors and the buying of supplies at competitive prices.
  • Issuing written orders for suppliers' invoices in conjunction with the Bar and Catering Manager.
  • To attend weekly meetings with the Bar and Catering Manager to discuss pervious months performance and planning ahead.

£13.00 per hour
