London, Greater London, United Kingdom LAW SOCIETY Full time
The Role

In 2025 we will celebrate our 200th Anniversary.

We want to use that milestone to drive up engagement with our 200,000 members working across the Legal Sector and deliver a new strategy to create more flexible ways for members to inform, influence, and support the work of the Law Society.

To help us deliver this new "Get Involved" strategy, we are recruiting a full-time Volunteer Manager.

This brand-new role is a fantastic opportunity to help deliver a range of strategic and practical improvements to how we support members to engage with us, to the benefit of both those members and the organisation in general.

Please refer to the JD for further information.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers in not-for-profit organisations, including taking ownership of the systems, processes, and policies required to successfully manage an organisation-wide volunteering scheme.

You'll be able to demonstrate a strong track record of successful management of volunteering projects or programmes in a busy environment, including supporting colleagues to engage volunteers to deliver tasks or objectives.

You'll have excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills and use your initiative to apply a proactive approach to resolving workplace challenges.

You are delivery focused, with a constructive, pragmatic, and flexible working style, able to work comfortably and effectively at pace, with minimal supervision, in a complex organisation that is ever changing.

What's in it for you

This is an excellent opportunity to work with contemporary thinkers in a progressive membership organisation.

The successful candidate will join a strong brand with a reputation for excellence and legal expertise, committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, and a culture of trust, clarity, excellence and respect.

We offer hybrid working, a generous flexible benefits package, a friendly working environment and the opportunity to develop your career within a professional organisation.

Interview Dates:
Tuesday 23 July and Friday 26 July

Please note:
if you are an internal applicant, Pay Policy will apply.

The Law Society represents solicitors in England and Wales.

From negotiating with and lobbying the profession's regulators, government and other decision makers, to offering training and advice, we're here to help, protect and promote solicitors.
