About the role


As part of the Defence Division's Management team, an exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Special Forces Vehicle (SFV) Product Line business within JFD.

This role will be accountable for the general management of the JFD SFV Product Line and be responsible for both the growth of this business internationally as well as the successful execution of current projects.


You will lead a global multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement JFD's SFV strategy; deliver mission success for our customers; and meet JFD's operational, people and financial performance objectives.


This role requires a dynamic individual who can lead a team to deliver on current commitments along side growing and developing a pipeline of international opportunities.


As Head of SFV, your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead JFD's global SFV portfolio, supporting Country General Managers for our home markets.
  • As a member of the Defence management team, develop the SFV strategy and own its implementation.
  • Deliver mission success for our customers, achieving or exceeding contract performance obligations.
  • Accountable for the profitable and sustainable growth of our SFV business, supported by Sales and Marketing colleagues.
  • Deliver short and long term financial objectives, including budget adherence and forecast accuracy.
  • Ensure health, safety, environment, sustainability and security objectives are achieved, with direct accountability for safety of SFV personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, supported by Legal & Compliance and HSEQS departments.
  • Lead the SFV team, achieving high levels of engagement, promoting a resilient, diverse, high performing team.

You will be delivery focussed whilst being able to develop business opportunities for the product line. In addition, we are seeking a a versatile influencer who is able to coach and develop talent.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Engineering or Business Degree qualified
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role in an international business
  • Experience in an operational maritime role, preferably within Defence
  • Be familiar with the Defence procurement processes used by Navy and/or Special Forces customers
  • Business and commercial acumen
  • Experienced negotiator, capable of agreeing long term strategic commercial benefit for the company
  • Setting and delivering medium
- and long-term strategy, budget and manpower plans
