Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for clinical Band 7's to join our Neonatal Team. The Senior Sister / Senior Charge Nurse will collaborate with a team of Consultants and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to provide top-notch care for our young patients and their families.
We work in a busy Level 2 LNU, caring for babies born from 27 weeks gestation, creating an environment where neonatal families can flourish.
Our neonatal unit at SWBH consists of 29 cots, including 5 intensive care cots, 5 high dependency cots, and 19 special care cots. We are currently expanding to include an 8 bedded transitional care unit and looking forward to the move to the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.
We have a dedicated multidisciplinary team striving for the highest quality care for our neonatal population. The successful candidate will join our team of Neonatologists, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, and Neonatal Community Outreach Team.
Main Duties of the Job
- Provide leadership and direction to the nursing team.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Neonatal Unit.
- Promote and uphold organizational and professional standards.
- Create a conducive learning environment in the Neonatal Unit.
- Encourage research and evidence-based practice.
- Ensure quality care delivery within the unit and collaborate with our ODN/LMNS.

- Significant post-qualification experience in a clinical specialty.
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience.

- Postgraduate qualification relevant to clinical specialty in Neonatal care.
- Completed leadership training program.
