The client, a long established and stable engineering/manufacturing organisation are seeking an Apprentice Documentation Control Administration Assistant to work from their site in Chester.

Free on site parking is available.

Full Training Will Be Provided
The job purpose is to assist the QA, Technical and Sales Departments in producing documentation. This is a great opportunity to work in a Manufacturing/Engineering organisation that invests in its employees development and training.

You will be trained in the following:

  • Compilation of electronic and hard copy material and test documentation for customers.
  • Scanning and filing both hard and electronic copies of material certification from suppliers.
  • Electronic filing and when required hard copy filing of documentation packages for customers.
  • Issuing of traceable material certification numbers to suppliers including entry onto an internal database.
  • Working as part of a team to ensure that all documents and information sent to customers suppliers is accurate and legible.
  • When required check and verify packages documentation packages put together by other people.
  • When required working with visiting inspectors from customer or 3rd party organisations.
  • Work as part of a team to check, print and issue 'Q' numbers for material certs.

The skills required include:

  • Good organisational skills.
  • Accurate word processing capabilities.
  • Basic ability to use spreadsheets.
  • Ability to be a good communicator between departments.


You will be registered on a formal apprenticeship scheme and receive qualification and training in areas of business administration and manufacturing documentation.


The role will be full time at 37.75 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (8.45am - 5pm) and Friday 8.

45am - 4pm)
