Two Payroll Officers required in Maidstone to start asap on a temporary basis until Dec 202- This is a full time office role, 37hours a week, Monday to Friday and is paying between £13.75ph - £17.

70ph (depending on experience)

  • You will be processing payroll on a monthly basis for circa 1500 people. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be ensuring payroll is processed in an accurate and timely manner and support the Pay and Pensions Officers with pension related tasks and admin.
  • Duties will include:
  • Supporting and coordinating monthly payroll data
  • Resolving payroll queries and manual recalculation of incorrect payments
  • Check and prepare payroll and sign off for payment
  • Input in the design of payroll solutions for new contracts, payments and payroll reporting files
  • Ensure payroll is legislatively compliant
  • Support colleagues with queries on the HR Payroll system
  • Assist Pay and Pension Officers with projects and admin
  • Support colleagues with pension queries
  • Prepare starters and leavers details
  • Liaise with other departments such as HR and Pension team

Essential Criteria:

  • GCSE Maths and English
  • Qualified (IPP/CIPP and/or IPPM qualification)
  • Excellent understanding of how payroll is processed are mapped and processed
  • Excellent understanding of financial processes linked to payroll e.g., month/year end reconciliations, HMRC returns statutory deductions and understanding of audit requirements
  • Good knowledge of the iTrent HR and Payroll integrated system.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to consult, negotiate, deal with sensitive situations and explain complex pay issues.
  • Proven ability of dealing with complex payrolls
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
  • Excellent people skills and experience dealing with difficult/sensitive issues
  • Experience with high volume payroll
