Payroll Officer

Company Overview:
Join our team at GD Harries & Sons, running and controlling the weekly and monthly payroll. Also supporting the HR Department with employee records, sickness absence reporting and managing the company holidays.

Job Summary:


As a Payroll Officer you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees.

Working closely with the finance and HR teams, you will be responsible for managing payroll activities, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and providing support to employees regarding payroll enquiries.


Duties:

  • Process payroll accurately and timely using sage software for weekly and monthly pay.
  • Managing Isgus system our keyfob terminals used by employees to log working hours.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure all new hires, terminations, and changes are reflected in the payroll system.
  • Processing Attachments of Earnings


Pensions
  • Follow autoenrolment and calculating contributions. Advise pension provider of new joiners, leaver and monthly contributions
  • Conduct data entry tasks related to payroll information and employee records.
  • Analyse payroll data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Work with accounting software to reconcile payroll accounts.
  • RTI Submissions
  • Year End process including P60 and P11d
  • Provide support during audits and ensure compliance with all payroll regulations.
  • Generate reports on payroll activities for management review.
  • Assist members of the HR and senior management team with any adhoc administrative duties
  • Proficiency in payroll processing
  • Experience with sage payroll or similar payroll software.
  • Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of accounting software.
  • Familiarity with Human Resources practices.
  • Ability to analyse data effectively.
