As a Lead Software Engineer you will be hands-on working in a fast-paced, cloud-first, product driven engineering team.

This position will be based working remotely with the occasional visit fortnightly/monthly to our bright and modern offices in Welwyn Garden City.

What will you be doing?nOverseeing all aspects of development for an entire product or system, including key decisions on the overall technical directionnBeing accountable for the deliveries into the Production environment by you and other engineers within the team, ensuring that these do not compromise the stability, availability and security of the systems, services or productsnMentoring the team and leading on new skills, technology and problem solvingnBridging the gap between the engineering team and other technical/non-technical teams both within and external to the businessnDesinging, developing and maintaining scalable technical solutions that support the ongoing growth of the businessnDeveloping clean code which adheres to SOLID principles and following the solution architecturenEnsuring that the application lifecycle, quality assurance, database engineering and build and deployment tasks are in place and understood by the teamnEnsuring that the business has systems that are performant & reliable and meet functional and non-functional requirementsnActively participating in driving continuous improvement in the team's processes, software tools and outputnDemonstrating experience of designing features with security in mindnHelping to shape the team's ways of working with the Delivery Manager and Product OwnernSupporting the Product Owner and Delivery Manager in communicating and updating stakeholdersnAssisting with translating technical solutions into language that non-technical staff will understandnDelivering to challenging deadlinesnBeing committed to deliver high quality well tested software as part of an agile teamnAssisting with recruitment of team membersnBeing part of an out of hours support rota to ensure that the applications, systems and services in your area run smoothly at all times
