HR Officer to join our People & Culture Team at CIPS on a 12 month fixed-term basis, reporting into the HR Business Partner.

Key responsibilities include:

Take responsibility for providing professional HR guidance and support to business area managers by:

  • Building positive relationships with management teams and evidencing the value of following HR policies and processes
  • Advising on performance management including disciplinary and grievance processesat specified levels
  • Advising and supporting on the management of sickness absence, maternity absence, flexible working and parental leave requests
  • Assisting in identifying employee development requirements and talent within the organisation
  • Providing advice to managers and supporting them in maintaining positive mental health within their teams
  • Lead and support on HR policy and process design and implementation across the organisation

Be accountable for the acquisition and retention of talent by:

  • Delivering an efficient and legally compliant recruitment process suitable to the geography, including all necessary administration that enables CIPS to attract the best talent available via a variety of channels
  • Design and deliver induction programmes that ensure new employees are fully equipped to succeed
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities across the employee lifecycle

Provide support and professional guidance to employees by:

  • Ensuring an understanding of the benefits on offer
  • Assisting in accessing support mechanisms such as EAP and Healthcare benefits
  • Supporting career and development opportunities within the organisation

Administration:

  • Responsible for the collation of HR metrics data and production of Management Information and reports to enable CIPS to understand fully key measures of employee performance and engagement with recommendations on actions to lift engagement.
  • Day to day maintenance of the nominated HR database, ensuring data protection compliance at all times. This includes inputting employee data on the HR online system, including details of new starters, leavers, change to terms and conditions and amendments to personal details.
  • Supporting the HR Business Partners' and People and Culture Director with any other general Human Resources or People Development activities as required.
