As an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team working alongside consultants, we are looking for experienced IP optometrists with the higher certificate / higher diploma in glaucoma to triage and carry out pre and post-operative consultations, assessing the suitability of glaucoma patients for treatment and managing patients according to the requisite policies and frameworks for care.

Provide advice to patients, including explaining the appropriate treatment options to patients and the possible risks and benefits

  • Analyse and interpret diagnostics data to identify and treat (as appropriate with antiglaucoma medications/SLT) new or progressing glaucomarelated ocular conditions
  • Run glaucoma clinics postsurgery for patients, documenting findings in electronic medical records
  • Provide clinical advice to patients and follow the appropriate means of referral to a medical practitioner as necessary
Experience working as an optometrist in a glaucoma pathway in a hospital setting (desirable)
