The Role:

As a crucial part of a multidisciplinary team alongside consultants, we seek experienced Optometrists with expertise in glaucoma to assess and manage patients pre and post-operatively, ensuring compliance with care protocols.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting relevant assessments and examinations for glaucoma
  • Providing patients with treatment advice, explaining options and risks
  • Interpreting diagnostic data to address glaucoma-related conditions
  • Collaborating with Consultants on treatment plans
  • Running post-surgery glaucoma clinics, maintaining accurate patient records
  • Offering clinical advice and referrals as needed

What You'll Need:

  • GOC registration as a qualified Optometrist
  • Independent prescribing qualification
  • Higher Certificate (essential) and/or Higher Diploma in Glaucoma (desirable)
  • Prior experience in glaucoma care within a hospital setting
  • Autonomous decision-making abilities in clinical settings
  • Experience in SLT for glaucoma (desirable)
  • Proficiency in electronic patient and medical record systems
