A&E Consultant ready to work in a Trust that puts their patients at the heart of everything they do.
This role would be predominantly based in Plymouth University Hospital with the opportunity to work extra shifts across any of our partner Trusts.

Pay rate: £90-£120 per hour (depending on experience)

About the role:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting to the emergency department, taking into account their medical history, conducting physical examinations, and determining the urgency and nature of their conditions.
- Perform and supervise advanced medical procedures and interventions, including resuscitation efforts, intubation, and other critical care procedures.
- Provide leadership and supervision to junior medical staff, including SHOs (Senior House Officers), foundation doctors, and medical students. Offer guidance in patient management and ensure a high standard of care.
- Manage complex medical cases, coordinate the care of patients with multiple medical issues, and collaborate with specialists from other disciplines when necessary.
- Make critical decisions regarding patient care, treatment plans, and the need for further investigations. Work closely with consultants and other senior medical staff to make informed decisions.
You'll need to respond to accidents and emergencies as varied as:
- Minor cuts
- Traffic accidents
- Strokes
- Heart attacks
- Selfharm
- Alcohol and drugrelated ailments

- Full GMC licence to practice
- Minimum 36 months experience in and NHS Trust within the last 2 years
