Responsible for carrying out Statutory inspection/Maintenance activities both on and offshore on lifting and safety equipment in accordance with LOLER/PUWER Regulations and in accordance with Bilfinger/Client and OEM Procedures and standards.

As an Inspection Technician, your activities will include the following:

Key Activities

  • Carry out Statutory inspections in accordance with LOLER regulations on equipment such as lifting machines fixed and portable and accessories for lifting both on/offshore
  • Carry out Statutory inspections in accordance with PUWER on equipment such as but not limited to fall arrest equipment, ladders and fire extinguishers both on/offshore
  • Pressure systems inspection work scopes in accordance with the PSSR regulations both on/offshore
  • Understanding and working to current Inspection Procedures and Standards
  • Provide technical advice and assistance
  • Creating detailed inspection reports and updating certification management system
  • Full Understanding of requirements for Controlling Documents and Records
  • Sufficient knowledgeable in on/offshore renewables/utilities, Oil & Gas Sectors working procedures, and client specific requirements
  • Ability to work on their own initiative and work well in a team environment
  • Excellent organisation skills as well as being able to prioritise workloads
  • Have Sound inspection/Maintenance background) including but not limited to Offshore Cranes and Davits, Lifting Accessories and Machines and safety Equipment
  • Experience in Inspection & Maintenance experience
  • GWO and renewables product specific training
  • Have a good understanding of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Written Schemes of Examination
  • Conduct and Participate in tool box talks

Experience

  • Experience of working in Renewables within an Oil & Gas Statutory Inspection/Maintenance Industry on/offshore (min 5 years)
  • Experience with carrying out Inspection and maintenance activities on/offshore in accordance with LOLER Regulations on equipment such as but not limited to Lifting Machines fixed, Portable, personnel lifts and accessories for lifting such as wire rope slings, shackles, chain and webbing slings.
  • Statutory inspections on/offshore in accordance with PUWER on equipment such as but not limited to fall arrest equipment, ladders and fire extinguishers. Pressure systems inspection work scopes in accordance with the PSSR regulations both on/offshore
  • Ability to work with Risk Assessments, Method Statements
  • Conversant with Word, Excel and Outlook

Qualifications

  • Offshore Medical to include Chester Step
  • GWO Training (Sea Survival, Working at Height, Fire Awareness, First Aid, Manual handling)
  • LEEA or LEEA Accredited Training Courses
  • Lift Inspection & Maintenance Training (Avanti, Skyman & Gorocon)
  • GWO Slinger Signaller or OPITO Slinger Banksman - Desirable
  • Wind Turbine Safety Rules Training (WTSR) - Desirable
  • Latchways Inspection training - Desirable
  • Wire Rope Inspection Course - Desirable
  • Pressure Systems inspection and awareness training - Desirable
