Overview:

Markel Law is excited to offer a unique position for a Lawyer to join our team in Manchester. As part of our Civil Litigation department, you'll be immersed in a dynamic environment focusing on professional indemnity work for Markel (UK) Limited. Our team was recognized in the Legal 500 in 2021 for our exceptional services.

The role entails handling a diverse range of covers with a primary focus on professional and management liability cases. From small claims to multi-million-pound disputes, you'll navigate through various professional risks in sectors such as construction, technology, accounting, and more.

Markel Law LLP is a reputable legal business providing services to both insured and non-insured clients. With expertise in civil and employment disputes, our goal is to deliver efficient and reliable legal advice tailored to our clients' needs.

Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with a team of 4 lawyers and supporting resources
  • Managing a caseload independently and under supervision
  • Providing clear and pragmatic legal advice
  • Identifying and addressing insurance policy coverage issues
  • Maintaining high service standards aligned with firm procedures
  • Meeting billing targets and performance indicators
  • Developing client relationships and attracting new business
  • Gaining insight into the insurance industry

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in legal insurance, preferably in professional indemnity claims
  • Expertise in construction or technology sector disputes
