Purpose of job As a Property and Capex Analyst you will be responsible for supporting the Investment Finance Manager in maximising the performance of the Landsec Retail property portfolio through capital investment appraisals alongside a key role in forecasting and monitoringRetail Capex. You'll use your knowledge, skills and experience to work across teams and sectors and contribute to the overall Strategy Plans, Budgets and Forecasts. Reporting into the Investment Finance Manager - Retail, the role will be focused towards our'Reimagine Retail' portfolios.

Principle accountabilities:

  • Support the Investment Finance Manager with the pipeline and approval process for Reimagine Retail projects such as master planning and repurposing/ enhancing of assets, ensuring a high level of commercial and financial rigour is applied to decision making
  • Investment appraisal modelling for key projects providing a high level of analysis and key metrics (NPV/IRR/benchmarking) to support decision making (Argus Enterprise / Argus Developer / Excel)
  • Support Investment Finance Manager with post investment reviews including highlighting key learns for future projects
  • Assist Investment Finance Manager with the flow of Retail developments and capex into the Strategy Plan, Budget and Forecasts, liaising with the Development team, Portfolio team and Finance team
  • Support maintenance of the investment models feeding into plans and portfolio analysis, updating as required
  • Manage, monitor and track Retail Capex linking with the Commercial Finance Managers as required, including JV partner deliverables
  • Partnering closely with the Investment, Development and Asset team to ensure pipeline of projects are up to date
  • Support Investment Finance Manager with the valuation process, overall analysis of market value including operation business performance metrics
  • Support Commercial Finance Managers with leasing / customer appraisal models as required
  • Adhoc analysis and project support as required

Knowledge, experience and qualifications Essential:

  • Qualified finance professional with +5 years finance experience
  • Experience of analysing, manipulating and presenting data and information
  • Previous Capex /property experience
  • Highly numerate
  • Financially astute with good understanding of corporate finance and accounting principles
  • Excellent report writing and presentation drafting skills
  • Technologically savvy
  • Ability to communicate and influence different stakeholder groups, both internal and external

Desirable:

  • Experience in asset / investment activity
  • Experience of working in a dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of property management
  • Investment Appraisal experience
