About The Job Salary**:
£28,371 to £31,099 per annum.

Contract:
Fixed term contract until 31/07/2023.

Hours:
Full-time, 37 hours per week.

Location:
Chichester, with hybrid working opportunities.

You will support the Senior Finance Officer with delivering training sessions on relevant topics. You will close down school accounts and produce Consistent Financial Reporting (CFR) returns for the Department for Education.


In this role you will assist the Senior Finance Officer and School Resource Managers in providing high level specialist advice and support to schools.

Duties will usually relate specifically to issues within the finance system, financial assessments or payments including processing invoices, monitoring accounts and working on technical data as well as broader tasks relating to supporting the management of the team and its function.

  • Clear and effective written communication skills to present information for managers, contribute to reports and write nonstandard correspondence appropriately.
  • Good numeracy skills in order to make sound and accurate financial calculations, working with an understanding of finance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to maintain effective communication across the team and with managers and clients.
  • The ability to supervise and aid development of staff, providing direction, guidance and support to individuals and teams. Including the ability to manage training and allocate work effectively to meet objectives and provide an efficient team service.
  • The ability to contribute to reviewing working practices, including analysing current practice, recognising where change is needed, and contributing to improving working methods, systems and the effectiveness of processes and service delivery. The ability to embrace change and adapt to changing situations and new ways of working positively and effectively.

Qualifications and/or experience:

  • 3 A levels at A-D (Maths related desirable), or equivalent qualification or experience demonstrating that level of ability, applied knowledge and understanding.
  • Relevant theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge related to delivering a specialist financial service.
  • Computer literate.
  • Significant experience demonstrating applied specialist practical and theoretical knowledge in a relevant financial discipline.
  • Experience of working in a customer orientated environment.
  • Some experience supervising and supporting others or providing mentoring, coaching and / or onthejob training to colleagues to maximise their specific capabilities.
  • Experience providing specialist advice to managers or customers. Including
