Job Description

What You'll Be Doing:
We are excited to offer two positions in our Water Engineering team at AECOM in Edinburgh.


As an Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the project design and delivery process, identifying design requirements and coordinating with specialized input (ecology, geotechnics, hydraulic modeling, etc.).

You will be responsible for leveraging your technical expertise, managing stakeholder expectations, and applying your knowledge of essential design processes and communication skills.


Your Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring timely delivery, quality, cost, and compliance with established specifications.
- Developing both basic and detailed designs for water infrastructure projects.
- Providing technical input for studies and designs within your expertise.
- Assisting in the development of construction cost estimates and project schedules.
- Collaborating in interdisciplinary reviews of project outputs.
- Contributing to quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
- Preparing technical specification sections.
- Offering input for engineering budgets and schedules.

Joining Our Team:

Being part of our Water team in Edinburgh means being involved in a variety of projects and working with diverse clients.

We have recently supported various UK clients, including Wessex Water, NI Water, Welsh Water (DCWW), Scottish Water, Network Rail, and local authorities.

Projects have ranged from small-scale drainage systems to large-scale Water Treatment facilities, offering a broad project portfolio.

Our Edinburgh civils team comprises around 20 professionals, fostering a supportive environment where continuous development is encouraged.

We prioritize professional growth, with a focus on achieving and supporting professional accreditations.

Qualifications

What We Require:

- Degree in Engineering.
- Experience in delivering detailed designs of water infrastructure.
- Progress toward Chartered Engineer Status.
- Proficiency in the full project design delivery cycle.
- Ability to work independently on major water infrastructure projects.
- Skilled in engaging with clients and stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to various AECOM and client locations.
