With a growing workload ahead, SLR's established Civil & Structural Engineering team in Edinburgh has a great opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join their team and support engineering projects.


The ideal candidate should hold or be working towards Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer status (IStructE or ICE) and will be responsible for managing Civil and Structural engineering projects from start to finish.


They are looking for candidates with a strong background in Civil Engineering consultancy, especially in managing engineering projects in a commercial consultancy setting.

The Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing projects and advising clients on engineering projects across Scotland and the UK;
  • Requirements include knowledge of engineering design, programme management, engineering contracts, and construction project management;
  • Report writing and technical review;
  • Mentoring engineering staff;
  • Collaboration with professionals in other UK offices;
  • Assisting in business development efforts to expand services and capabilities;
  • Management and support on various engineering projects in power, infrastructure, and built environment sectors.

About you

You should have:

  • Strong team player with good communication and organizational skills;
  • Experience in a similar role in civil engineering projects within consultancy;
  • Knowledge of UK legislation and standards for Civil & Structural Engineering;
  • Post-graduation consultancy experience, including project management;
  • Working knowledge of engineering design, programme management, and engineering contracts;
  • Understanding of civil engineering principles;
  • A valid UK driving license.
