The Core X Lead defines and drives delivery of the CoreX programme vision and roadmap, collaborating with Screwfix stakeholders, Kingfisher, and trusted vendors in agreeing priorities and the plan.

You will lead a team of Product Owners and Delivery teams assigned to each value stream focused on re-platforming to and continuous improvement of a modern flexible ERP platform, associated supporting systems and business processes.

You will have overall responsibility for ensuring CoreX provides a scalable, flexible and robust solution, effectively satisfying the key technical and long term plan business priorities for our finance, supply chain, procurement, and commercial capabilities.

Face-to-face collaboration is an integral part of our warm, friendly culture, so you'll work from our head office three days a week, working flexibly around our core working hours of 10am-3pm.

Key responsibilities

  • Accountable for the CoreX scope based on business and IT requirements leading a team of Product Owners and Delivery teams.
  • Leading, inspiring, empowering and supporting these teams
  • An evangelist, articulating the purpose and status of CoreX to stakeholders at all seniority levels
  • Engages stakeholders to understand business priorities
  • Leads the redesign of end to end business processes to drive efficiency and increased automation
  • Owns the Initiative level backlog for CoreX as part of aggregate Screwfix Portfolio process.
  • Works collaboratively with external 3rd parties and other Kingfisher/Screwfix teams to plan, determine, prioritise implementation of solutions.
  • Ensures the scope for each mínimal viable proposition (MVP) aligns to business needs, delivers incremental value and a good ROI.
  • Communicates key programme metrics and progress with executive stakeholders including Screwfix board.
  • Continually monitors the programme health with the Lead Scrum Master and looks for opportunities to drive improvement, reduce risk, improve quality or ROI.
  • Collaborates with the architecture community on the decision runway.
  • Works with stakeholders to plan programme releases, ensuring key stakeholders are engaged and delivery is planned and in alignment with other business priorities.
  • Works closely in the 3inabox model to align product and the technical vision.
  • Works closely with the Programme Lead to agree team organisation, inputs into the funding approval process, specifically owning the benefits case.
  • Strives to reduce complexity and risk through balanced technical tradeoffs or vendor selections made with the programme technical community
  • Monitors and shares value stream benefits achievement with development team and key stakeholders.

Required skills & experience

  • Comfortable presenting complex programmes to Clevel executives in business terminology
  • Track record of delivering & innovating market leading ERP platforms at scale
  • Confident in technology transformation including vendor selection, management and procurement
  • Strong team player who uses initiative and diplomacy when liaising with internal and external stakeholders in a matrix management model.
  • Knowledge of agile working practices
  • Strong influencing and facilitation skills
  • Strong networking and team working ability across all work levels.
  • Able to define, budget and deliver multimillion pound projects using agile methodologies
