Room Leader at Cherrybrook Nursery

We are currently seeking a dedicated Nursery Room Leader to support the management team in delivering top-notch compliance, care, and education for children, as well as efficiently overseeing the daily operations of the nursery. This includes fostering positive relationships with both staff and parents.


This full-time role involves working 42.5 hours per week, with varying shift patterns between the nursery's opening and closing times from 7:15am-18:30pm. The nursery operates throughout the year, making this a year-round position that is not limited to term time.


To be successful in this role, you must hold a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification. The salary offered is £28,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and experience.



Responsibilities as Room Leader:
  • Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources tailored to children's age and developmental stage.
  • Support all aspects of children's daily requirements, covering physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist staff in maintaining high-quality records in the EyLog system and their child learning journals.
  • Lead by example to establish respect and credibility in your role with fairness and consistency.
  • Contribute to implementing an effective key person approach to help children form secure attachments and identify staff training needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and files related to children and staff on the EyMan system.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, staff, parents, and visitors at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Requirements for the Role:
  • Full and relevant Level 3 Childcare qualification - Essential
  • Over 1 year of experience in Early Years work - Essential
  • At least 6 months of experience in a senior position - Desirable
  • Solid understanding of Ofsted expectations to achieve a Good or Outstanding rating - Desirable
  • Knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and regulatory requirements - Essential
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English - Essential
