General information


The Procurement Hire Operations Assistant will collaboratively work in tandem with the Hire Operations team & Procurement department to meet all duties and responsibilities.

The Role will be for an ambitious and detailed person who will endeavour to assist Garic in its growth and implement the processes as set out by the business within its management system.

Hire Operations team is a key strategic value stream and critical in our objective in becoming a 100m turnover company.

As such this person will be a direct resource that is managed by the Procurement Manager but also report into the Hire Operations Director on key strategic projects to help drive Hire Operations on their journey.


This Procurement Hire Operations Assistant role is not limited to Hire Operations and if required the person may need to assist other parts of Garic ltd.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To produce paperwork accurately in accordance with the company management system.
  • To support and collaborations colleagues and all associated depot needs and requirements.
  • To purchase all authorised requests for materials for the production of plant, building works and office equipment/stationery, ensuring the purchase request has been authorised by the correct member of staff before placing the order.
  • To raise and process purchase orders for nonstock items such as the transport department.
  • To raise purchase orders for all purchases with valid quotations, ensuring price and delivery are agreed.
  • To negotiate best prices and delivery times with suppliers by completing the required purchasing process.
  • To assist, check and sign off purchase invoices for materials, confirming price is correct and goods have been received if required.
  • To assist, raise and input goods received notes for all materials received, ensuring the delivery note is attached if required.
  • To liaise with the Stores manager or other colleagues for any materials that need returning to suppliers.
  • To file all paperwork promptly and properly
  • To maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, internal / external customers and suppliers and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • To portray a positive image of Garic and stand by Garic's ethos when carrying out your duties.
  • To comply with company policies and procedures
  • To keep your knowledge and skills up to date and to keep abreast with new developments and best practice within your field of work.
  • To assist senior members of the team in implementing strategic framework agreements.
  • Any other reasonable task as requested by your manager or the Directors of the company.
