We provide the industry with a complete service for all their lifting equipment needs and have many years of experience in providing mechanical handling solutions.

RSS Lifting Hire & Sales offers one of the largest ranges of lifting equipment and accessories in the industry, with this position responsible for managing and scheduling the Test, Inspection and Certification (TIC) of lifting and working at height equipment.

Furthermore, we can repair, service, install and supply any equipment to meet your requirements. The Lifting Inspection Engineer role is primarily site based and will involve the inspection, function testing, repair and maintenance of lifting and working at height equipment.

We are looking for a Lifting Inspection Engineer to join us in Plymouth on a full-time basis and become an integrated part of a rapidly-growing, dedicated team.

Job Title: Lifting Equipment Inspection/Test Engineer
Location: Plymouth
Contract Status: Permanent, Mon – Fri 07:30 – 17:00
Salary: £Neg on experience

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out any inspections and testing work of manual handling and lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER and PUWER regulations.
  • Service and repair Lifting Equipment on customer's sites and in the company workshop as required.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and correctly to ensure customer compliance and safety.
  • Adhere to Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Maintain the company vehicle, completing the relevant daily checks.
  • Help to keep all shared areas and workshop clean and tidy.

What are we looking for?:

  • Previous experience of carrying out LOLER and PUWER inspections on a variety of lifting equipment, including (but not limited to); Chains, Slings, Shackles, Manual/Powered Hoists, Lifting Beams + many more.
  • LEEA Qualifications or time served in relevant industry.
  • Must have a full UK Driving Licence.
  • Customer focused with strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Proactive with a positive attitude, well organised and punctual.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work alone, or as part of a team in a workshop environment or on customer sites.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer's facilities. Frequent lifting up to 30kg.
  • IT Literate – full training will be provided for tablet use.
