This role is within the Clinical IMD Department at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The key function is to help manage patients with complex conditions by coordinating required appointments and collating information from these assessments.

Some patients are also enrolled in data registry and this role helps to collate and input the required information.

  • Participate in, and take personal responsibility for, own relevant training and personal/professional development including individual supervision
  • To ensure the timely production of an accurate clinical record of each patient episode, using relevant IT systems and databases
  • To liaise between patient/parents and the associated clinical team using facetoface, telephone and written communication and instigate appropriate action accordingly, as befits the sensitive and complex nature of the information involved.
  • To assist in the organisation and smooth running of the departmental meetings and ad hoc conferences/seminars and taking minutes when required.
  • To be responsible for maintaining personal individual development within the Trust, including keeping up to date with changing working practices and procedures.
  • Completed investigations are available to each consultant and the appropriate healthcare team, when required.
  • To enter and maintain data on patients into the Departmental database as appropriate.
  • Agree with line manager a training plan for personal/professional development
  • To undertake any other duties as requested by Clinical Lead, Lead Nurse or Service Manager, as appropriate to that grade
  • To ensure that Trust policies and procedures are followed at all times.
