Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2023 and beyond, we are currently seeking experienced individuals to join HSBC Technology.

Operating in a highly competitive environment, Technology leverages various Suppliers and other third party engagements to provide efficient distribution channels.

We now seek a Technology Third Party Management - Governance Lead

Role Description

The Technology Third Party Management - Governance Lead is a senior role expected to provide Subject Matter Expertise across Third Party Management for our most Material and complex Third Parties.

The role will support the development of the governance framework applicable to Third Party technology service provides, and work with key stakeholders to drive improved resiliency and service delivery in a commercially optimal manner.


Responsibilities

  • Have SME capabilities across core Supplier Governance processes and artefacts, including:
  • Executive review sessions (Quarterly Business Reviews, Exec Briefing notes etc)
  • Contractual Agreements
  • Supplier Account Management and Management Information
  • Be able to develop supporting frameworks and processes to enable business colleagues in identifying, onboarding and managing important suppliers
  • Lead business colleagues to define, optimise and uplift contractual agreements, service levels and effective governance processes; providing practical guidance and coaching as required
  • Manage inputs required from, and provide a point of coordination between key SMEs, including:
  • IT Service Management
  • Business and IT Service Owners & Third Party Engagement Managers
  • Procurement
  • Legal
Requirements

Essential Skillset/Experience

  • Strong experience in managing complex and strategic Third Party relationships
  • Knowledge and experience of best practices in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) principles
  • Demonstrable experience across:
  • Development of joining strategies for mutual benefit of both organisations
  • Working with suppliers to develop proactive risk management strategies
  • Service and Performance Management and optimisation
  • Contract Management, including obligation tracking, value realisation, continuous improvement
  • Fluent in assessing contractual agreements and broader governance processes and assess for maturity and opportunities for optimisation
  • Strong negotiation skills, particularly across contract / commercial disciplines.
  • Able to negotiate and interact effectively at senior levels.
  • Understanding of Technology Service Management principles (ITIL experience preferable but not mandatory).
  • Excellent cross stakeholder management, communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Understanding of third party risk domains and principles
  • Experience of the endtoend Procurement processes, including RFX, contracting and post deal management.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly develop knowledge of, HSBC business and products,
  • Leadership skills to drive the discipline forward in a constantly changing risk environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment in the financial services or similarly heavily regulated sector.
  • Able to conceptualise the operational impact of business change.
  • Ability to understand complex concepts.
  • Selfstarter, independent and willing to selfdefine and drive required outcomes to achieve objectives.
  • Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines.

In an increasingly governed and regulated environment the ability to provide assurance that all the models are being deployed in countries to an agreed standard is paramount.


The role will be based in London, but some travel may be required. This role supports Hybrid working
