The Role: Consultant, Location Planning (German Speaking)

The Team:

The Automotive Dealer Network Planning Solutions team at S&P Global provides insights and analysis to Vehicle OEM's, Dealer Groups, and other organizations, focused on the location and optimization of retailers and other services. With consultants based globally, we work collaboratively across regions to support and develop innovative solutions, supported by the wider Automotive Consultancy division at S&P Global, who provide data, forecasting, and technical expertise. In EMEA, the team is located in Germany and the UK with frequent interactions with colleagues elsewhere. Every project brings new challenges, and we value each individual's contribution to enhance and improve our processes and outputs to clients.

The Impact:

Supporting both clients and internal colleagues, the Location Planning Consultant Specialist will be involved in and lead client-facing projects, delivering on project milestones. Advising clients in our area of expertise and translating their requirements to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction. From initial client contacts, alongside colleagues from the Sales team, through to the conclusion of the project, this role will be the key contact for many stakeholders, binding the constituent parts of the project and ensuring timely deliveries. Understanding the industry and being up-to-date with the latest trends gives our clients the reassurance that we can deliver on their requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • You will be involved in the delivery of client projects from data collection & processing, market analysis, building ideal location recommendations through to the creation & delivery of reports.
  • Client-facing interactions in the sale & delivery of Location Planning projects, including identifying new business opportunities.
  • Supporting colleagues with expertise in Automotive and/or Location Planning.
  • Involvement in the development of new techniques, models, and processes that drive our business forward.
  • Maintaining industry knowledge and attending conferences/seminars were required.
What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate must have at least;
  • University Degree in Applied Geography, Geomatics, Applied Statistics, Business Informatics, or similar, with 3-4 years industry experience.
  • Fluent German language skills, & English.
  • Readiness to undertake business trips to our clients located in the EMEA region, primarily within Germany.
  • Technical ability in SQL, relational databases, GIS (preferably ESRI), and MS Office software.
In addition, candidates must be able to demonstrate;
  • Ability to work independently or as part of an international team.
  • Good relationship building skills, both internally and externally.
  • A passion for Automotive, Location Planning, and technical innovation.
