This position is working for a very exciting and well-established FTSE100 Media business with a brilliant brand in the sector and exciting strategy for the future.

They are hiring for an exciting Financial Accountant opportunity reporting directlyto the Head of Finance.

You will be a core member of the wider finance team and play a key part in supporting and strengthening the accounting function throughout all teams in the department.

This role will initially have one direct report and have the opportunityto move into a more commercial role in the future as part of the company's rotation.

Role Responsibilities

  • Balance sheet management, including reporting and coordinating quarterly balance sheet reviews across the Group
  • Business partnering with the key stakeholders to review existing processes, define control requirements and support implementation of processes to ensure that controls can be operated effectively
  • Work with stakeholders globally to develop and continuously improve cash flow reporting to provide timely, consistent, and meaningful reporting that aligns with global KPIs, and provides actionable insights
  • Prepare and report the global free cash flow to senior management periodically, including end to end coordination of the free cash flow budgeting and forecasting process
  • Liaising with UK and international head office stakeholders on projects and policies impacting the financial accounts
  • Ensuring all accounting processes are followed and where appropriate improved, with required documentation and internal controls being put in place
  • Support month end and year end closing
  • Assisting with queries from, and delivery of data to, internal and external auditors
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or overseas Equivalent)
  • Previous accounting experience including working knowledge of US GAAP and FRS10
  • Good knowledge of Financial Control frameworks e.g. (SOX)
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in partnering with stakeholders
  • Experience with cashflow direct and indirect
  • Confident in identifying, resolving and escalating key points and issues
  • Experience across publishing/media is desirable but not essential
