Senior Data Analyst - Finance

Location: Leicester 2-3 days/remote

Role type: Permanent

Salary: up to £65,000 plus bonus

Overview:

We are working with a renowned client in Leicester to help secure a Senior Data Analyst within their Finance team, serving as a strategic influencer, harnessing the power of data to drive impactful decisions and enhance the overall financial health of the organization. By conducting thorough data analysis and interpretation, this role provides key insights into financial trends, identifies opportunities for optimization, and predicts potential risks. This position acts as a linchpin between the finance senior leadership team to ensure efficient operation of financial systems, aligning data initiatives with overarching financial objectives and contributing to the broader strategic direction of the business.

Key Relationships:

Finance Team: Collaborate closely to understand data needs, provide analytical support, and ensure alignment with financial objectives.

IT and Data Engineering Teams: Work closely to ensure seamless integration of finance systems and automation tools.

Leadership Team: Provide regular updates and insights, offering data-driven perspectives for strategic financial decisions.

Automation Tool Vendors & External Parties:** Establish and maintain relationships, collaborating on tool implementation and updates.

Professional Expertise:

Qualified or Finalist ACCA/CIMA/ACA

5 years of experience in data analytics within finance domain

Exceptional financial modeling, Excel, and analytical skills.

Extensive Knowledge of Visualization Tools: Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau

Excellent Coding ability including SQL, DAX and working knowledge of Azure Pipelines

Working knowledge of EPM/ERP technologies

Highly diligent with an eye for detail and impeccable presentational skills.

Responsibilities:

Automation Implementation and Management:

Develop and implement a comprehensive automation strategy for all finance processes.

Select, implement, and manage an automation tool to streamline routine tasks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze workflows and establish a roadmap for continuous improvement.

Monitor the effectiveness of automated processes and provide training and support to finance team members.

System Ownership and Data Model Management:

Take ownership of all finance systems and ensure seamless integration.

Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to maintain a robust and stable data model.

Conduct regular audits of finance systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance.

Implement data governance policies to maintain data quality and security.

Financial and Data Exploration:

Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to explore financial data and identify trends.

Employ financial modeling and accounting knowledge to create accurate forecasts and models.

Conduct thorough financial and data analyses to support strategic decision-making.

Drive data exploration initiatives, uncovering opportunities for financial optimization.
