Joining our Finance and Procurement team as a
Buyer you will play a key part of the procurement function. Supporting site operations with materials purchased to meet customer demand and production schedules.

You will focus on the correct quality and compliance standard and maximise production efficiencies whilst within budget price or better.

Whilst no day at Piramal is the same, using your demonstrable organisational and negotiation skills, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining the efficient procurement of all materials & services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Regularly reviewing supplier performance, prices, lead times and quality standards for all requirements. Negotiating and maintaining contracts and supply agreements where appropriate.
  • Ensuring correct procurement procedures are followed from requisition creation, conversion to purchase orders through to payment of vendors. To support and maintaining an On Time in Full standard.
  • Participating & supporting departmental objectives, projects, and cost reduction activities in order to minimise supply chain risk and optimise total cost of ownership for input materials to support manufacturing.
  • Undertaking appropriate benchmarking of key purchases during the course of any financial period where the price agreement or a renewal on pricing needs to be reapproved.


To be successful in this role, you will be able to showcase your ability to form strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

You will take a holistic approach in everything you do, supported with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work to tight timescales.

Whilst experience with SAP would be advantageous it is not essential.
