We are currently seeking a Senior Underwriter to join our Accident & Health team in London at QBE.

- The portfolio includes 4 sub-portfolios: Treaty, Direct & Facultative, Sports, and International Medical Expenses

Your New Role
  • Contribute significantly to the creation and execution of the portfolio business plan, focusing on your areas of expertise
  • Monitor and report on progress, identify deviations, recommend actions, and implement strategies to achieve business goals in your area of expertise
  • Identify resource requirements to support the plan
  • Underwrite Reinsurance risks to meet business objectives by negotiating rates, terms, and conditions, managing contract documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to maximize influence
  • Stay informed on professional education and market dynamics, demonstrating market awareness in your expertise area
  • Support the team and processes aligned with business needs and development, ensuring performance standards are met
  • Establish clear responsibilities and authority levels for direct reports to drive accountability and performance
  • Motivate and coach team members for their personal and professional growth
  • Adhere to QBE DNA conduct guidelines
About You
  • Experience in class-specific underwriting and reinsurance
  • Ability to lead teams to high behavioral standards
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in data analysis and decision-making
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and relevant software
