The Equality and Strategy Department sits at the heart of the TUC.


The team provides strategic and practical support to the General Secretary and Deputy General Secretary and the TUC's formal governance structures.

It has a key role in supporting the wider senior management team on overall organisational strategy and delivery.


The team also leads policy and campaigning on equality issues, including supporting the TUC's democratic structures for race, gender, LGBT+ and disability.


This senior role within the team is an opportunity for an individual to take a lead on cross-Departmental equality policy and campaigning, while also working with the Head of Department with wider cross-organisational strategic development and relationshipmanagement.


  • Substantial experience of leading, developing and promoting policies on employment and/or equality issues
  • Substantial experience of initiating, managing and delivering complex and highprofile projects
  • Strategic and innovative thinking
  • Excellent political judgement
  • Demonstrable leadership experience


This is a two-stage interview process, first round interviews on Thursday 20 January 2023 and second round interview date to be confirmed.
