In our Tyne facility we have the largest commercial dry-dock on the East coast of England as well as two deep water berths and a fabrication facility complete with panel line, rolling, plasma and gas burning machines.


As part of our commitment to excellence and safety we are looking for another HSE Officer to support and maintain our team's awareness of the potential for unplanned losses of people, time, reputation and equipment.

A&P's number one priority is to safeguard the safety and wellbeing of our staff, customers and sub-contractors.

So, what will you do?

  • It's a varied role where you'll get the chance to work across all safety principles and standards, training in those areas you've not experienced previously
  • We work within a heavy industry so you'll play a great part in ensuring that through our safety culture process program, we all return home safe and healthy at the end of every working day
  • You'll monitor conformance with health, safety & environmental regulations as well as A&P procedures
  • Reporting and recording health, safety, environmental and quality performance, you'll also carry out or assist others in the investigation, reporting and recommend action on accidents, incidents, near misses and nonconformances to drive positive change and improvements
  • As part of our shared values with a focus on responsibility and sustainability practices you will carry out, and assist others with, risk assessments and safe systems of work as well as provide advice on health, safety, environmental and quality matters to line management and the wider team
  • You'll review project requirements, and the impact on advice you give while maintaining legislation in a professional, competent manner with colleagues, customers and contractors

And what are we looking for?

  • Qualified to NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent
  • Experience of working within a HSEQ function with good knowledge of best practice within HSEQ
  • As a sensible and precautionary measure and to provide a level of assurance on trustworthiness, integrity and reliability, if you secure the position we'll need to run you through a security check to get BPSS clearance
