Working closely with and reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be key in helping to deliver the organisation's compliance with all applicable standards for food safety and quality.
You will be responsible for:
- Writing & maintaining product specifications, supplier & raw material risk assessments, and all associated records.
- Coordinating supplier approvals for food safety, quality, and ethical trading.
- Preparing, coordinating, keeping records, and actioning supplier approvals, information reviews, department schedules, reports, and meetings.
- Representing Technical at NPD meetings/events and keep the rest of the technical department updated with key NPD progress, developments, dates, etc.
- Supporting staff induction and training activities with documentation, material preparation, record keeping and organisation.
- Actively participating in maintaining full compliance to the applicable standards for food safety, hygiene, and quality, including championing best industry practices (minimum BRCGS Food Safety v9).
- Coordinating tasks / workloads with colleagues.
- Assisting in hosting of audits / related visits and auditing of suppliers, where necessary.
- Supporting traceability activities for the team
You must be/have:
- Very organised, positively motivated, and be able to plan tasks with impeccable attention to detail.
- Highly proficient in written and spoken English.
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Enthused to learn about the way food safety is maintained at QBC & then implement in your role every day.
- Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work closely with your manager, in a team and liaise with clients.
- Fully computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- At least 1 year's experience in a similar role
Desirable:
- Qualified to Level 2 Food Safety or higher.
- Experienced in maintaining UK food safety compliance records (e.g. BRCGS, SALSA, IFS).
- Experience in bakery aspects of food industry.
- Experience in complying with Client Codes of Practice.
