The Children and Young Peoples (ChYPS) Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service offers a compelling opportunity for a permanent, Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Consultant Psychiatrist to join their Sussex-wide team.



This position allows you to play a vital role in prioritizing the delivery of a safe, effective, and caring service to young individuals (10yrs-18yrs) with eating disorders and their families/carers in Sussex.



This job includes a Recruitment and Retention payment of 25,000, along with an additional (up to) 8000 relocation allowance. The RRP payment is provided in the following instalments:

  • 5000 payment upon appointment
  • 5000 retention payment on the 12-month anniversary of employment
  • 6500 retention payment on the 30-month anniversary of employment
  • 8500 retention payment on the 48-month anniversary of employment

Find out more about our offerings by visiting our careers portal:Main duties of the job This position will be located at Crawley Down Health Centre, focusing on the treatment of children and young people with severe mental health issues and eating disorders.


Our service follows NICE Concordant Evidenced Based Treatment for young individuals with eating disorders. You will conduct top-notch specialist clinical assessments, including relevant psychiatric and physical investigation for children, young people, and their families in various settings, collaborating with team members to design and implement personalized treatment plans.


You'll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, systemic family therapists, and child psychotherapists. This role involves working closely with other Consultants and Specialty Doctors at Sussex ChYPS.


Additionally, you will be part of a Trust-wide consultant network, providing opportunities to interact with colleagues in other roles across the Trust and build professional connections. You will engage with consultant peers at regular division meetings and clinical governance meetings.About us. At Sussex Partnership, we emphasize flexible working options.   • MBBS
  • Registered on the GMC Specialist register or on track to achieve within 6 months
  • Strong knowledge in the specialty
  • Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
