This is an excellent and rare opportunity for an experienced manager and qualified worker to join The Lilias GrahmTrust. The post involves supporting practitioners and families whilst developing parenting capacity assessmentand the delivery of service. The post holder will contribute to the unique culture and ethos of LGT.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Work proactively to achieving positive, engaging, relationships with families, all other services, andstakeholders.
  • Lead their team and delegate effectively.
  • Motivate families, individuals, and theteam with excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Undertake high quality writtenassessments whilst demonstrating critical thinking and warmth in their assessments.
  • Continually work todevelop the team and service delivery to ultimately benefit the families we serve.
  • Contribute andparticipate in the development, and delivery of the day to day running of the service to promote of the welfareof staff and families.
  • Monitor the efficiency and quality of policies, procedures, and currentdocuments, actively promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide supervision, coaching,mentoring, training and induction to staff and volunteers.
  • Be committed and willing to meet the needs ofthe service, working 9am-5pm, five days a week and additional shift, evening and weekends asrequired.
  • Participate in the on-call system which includes public holidays, evenings, andweekends.

Essential skills and Experience Required

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a degree in Social Work or another relevant degree eg psychology as a minimum qualification with ongoingpersonal development for continued practice.
  • Be trauma informed with a working knowledge of thesignificant impact that poverty and systems have on children and families.
  • Have a keen interest inattachment theory, child development and understanding of an approach of therapeutic parenting.
  • Have acurrent working knowledge of child development, and attachment and trauma informed theory which will underpinpractice.
  • Be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council and adhere to standards in line withtheir requirements.
  • Have the creativity, compassion, and skill base to deliver robust and focusedparenting capacity assessments.
  • Have a keen interest in the delivery of The Promise Scotland and thesupports required to scaffold families in the community.
  • Have Line Management experience (essential) ofmulti-disciplinary agencies, in children and families.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft officeprogrammes, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Hold a full driving licence and have use of their ownvehicle (mileage paid).
  • Provide two references and join the PVG Scheme.

Who are we?

The LGT is a registered Scottish Charity which offers independent parenting capacity assessments within a ruralresidential setting near the village of Thornhill, 10 miles from Stirling town centre. We provided residentialplacements to parents and their child/children in cases where a Local Authority has concerns about the parent'sability to meet the children's needs. By working with the families, we are able to provide evidence -basedinformation about whether the child can remain safely within the family, and if so, what support is required.The LGT's practice is based on Kate Cairns 'Five to Thrive working model' and, via a 12-week parenting capacityassessment we assess, support, and develop parent's confidence, skills, and insight to promote healthyattachments. The LGT staff team work closely in partnership with independent consultants in Social Work,Psychiatry, Counselling, Health, Play, Music, and Art Therapy to provide a holistic and organic assessment.

Outline of Terms of Employment:

Contract: Permanent

Leave entitlement: 20 Annual leave days & 10 Public Holidays

Hours of Duty: 40 hours per week

Shift work: Shift and weekend work may be required.

On Call: The post holder will participate in the on-call system,

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Glasgow Family Wellbeing Service, to positively impact on the livesof children, young people and their families, building empowering relationships to address the various, oftencomplex challenges they face. This is an innovative service, working alongside children and their familieswithin communities across Glasgow, providing whole family support which is easily accessible andnon-stigmatising. We listen and learn from children and families to develop the service alongside ourpartners.

We adopt a relational and restorative approach which helps families to strengthen relationships and reduce emotionaldistress. We invest in reflective and trauma-sensitive practice which guides workers to develop a relationshipwith family members characterised by trust, respect, honesty, compassion and open communication, placing thevoice of children, young people and their families at the centre of the support.

We are looking for a Team Leader to join our leadership team within Glasgow. In this position you will play a crucialrole in the on-going learning and development of the service and contribute to how we continue to best meet theneeds of families across the city. Building relationships and the ability to communicate effectively internallyas well as with external partners and agencies is at the heart of everything you will do.

You should have experience of working in a leadership capacity; of offering reflective support and/or supervision toa team of staff/students/volunteers and able to confidently respond to and manage risk.

Families are facing increasing challenges which makes this is a demanding role requiring tenacity, commitment andflexibility. No two days are the same

If you have a passion for working alongside families, have experience of keeping children safe, are committed torestorative approaches, and have a professional qualification in a relevant area such as Social Work, Teachingor equivalent in Child Care/Social Care or related area, accredited counselling qualification, or other relevantqualification at SCQF level 9 or higher, then we want to hear from you.

Base

We currently have a community base in the Pollok area of the southside. The role involves meeting partners andfamilies across the city, in their local communities.

What we are looking for....

We know how difficult it can be managing your work/life balance, and so we are offering flexible hours to work atweekends either on a Saturday or a on a Sunday or working on both days at the weekend. Work hours would rangefrom 5 hours to 15 hours.

As part of a small team, you will ensure that the highest level of physical and emotional care is provided to thechildren and young people. Aberlour Child Care Trust has recently launched a new family outreach service, Aberlour Sustain Clackmannanshire.This service works alongside families, communities and partners to offer caring and responsive support to youngpeople and families. Aberlour Sustain Clackmannanshire delivers the support families need, when they need it,every day of the year. The aim of the service is to ensure that children and young people can continue toflourish at home, at school and in their local community.

Working with Social Work Services, this innovative and creative new service focuses on supporting young people aged 0– 18 years, who may be on the 'edge of care' so that they remain living with their family in their localcommunities.

Our Service works with young people and their families to enhance relationships, build on existing strengths andinterests, help build confidence and encourage new community connections. Our aim is to help all families feelsafe, confident, capable, and included. Our approach has been developed through consultation with families andpartners.

This post is to provide cover for maternity leave. We expect the post to last for 11 months.

You will have experience of direct practice within this field of work,including child/adult protection issues as well as having experience of working with children and youngpeople.
