About the Position
As a Quality Engineer (Fleet), your responsibilities will be quite unique. Babcock offers a range of services including fleet time engineering, facilities management, waterfront services, logistics, and transport within a predetermined operating budget, with a strong focus on continuous improvement in warship and submarine support.
On a daily basis, you will be engaged in performing Fleet Quality Assurance (QA) tasks according to the current Customer Contract through close collaboration with all key stakeholders.
Key activities include:
- Support for Platform Maintenance Periods, Product Quality Activities, Supply Chain Support, Quality Training, Corporate Audit Programme, and Management System Governance.
- Ensure that all tasks are completed in adherence to the company's cost, time, and quality criteria.
- Aid the Senior Quality Engineer in optimizing the utilization of all resources within the section.
- Participation in the corporate audit program, including managing corrective and preventive actions.
This role is a full-time permanent position requiring 37 hours per week, primarily based at Faslane, Helensburgh onsite 4 days a week, with the option of working from home 1 day a week.
Agile working arrangements could be available to employees in certain instances, applying principles of fairness and consistency while ensuring the business needs are adequately met. We are open to considering flexible working options, including part-time roles, condensed hours, and job sharing. Feel free to inquire about alternative work patterns during the interview.
Essential Experience for the Quality Engineer (Fleet):
- Ideally, you should possess experience in Quality Management tools and techniques.
- Knowledge and understanding of Risk management tools and techniques.
- Strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO) – (preferred but not mandatory)
Qualifications for the Quality Engineer (Fleet):
- HNC in a Relevant Engineering Discipline or Equivalent.
- CQI Level 3 Certificate and Chartered Member of CQI (preferred but not mandatory)
