We are currently looking for a Planning Support and Land Charges Officer who is ready for an exciting challenge in our fast-paced Business Support Team.

You will be responsible for offering efficient and effective administrative support to the teams in Business Support.

You will assist the Local Land Charges Programme, collaborating with HM Land Registry, to establish a unified digital Local Land Charges Register for England and Wales; consolidating and moving local land charges register information to a single accessible location.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Administering various land charge functions, providing information for Land Charge Search requests within set deadlines and managing related correspondence.
  • Handling payments for fees and charges, recording transactions, and adhering to Council regulations.
  • Compiling data and generating statistical information as instructed, maintaining accurate input in designated management systems related to Planning, Building Control, and Land Charge Searches.
  • Responding to Official Searches applications in the Land Charges Register and resolving customer queries.
  • Completing different types of searches such as LLC1, Con29, and personal searches following Government guidelines.
  • Processing Planning and Building Control applications, notifications, and Enforcement complaints.

Your essential skills should include:

  • Being a collaborative team member with the ability to work independently.
  • Exhibiting excellent organizational skills, working methodically, prioritizing tasks, handling pressure, and meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrating effective communication skills when interacting with the public, Senior Managers, Elected Members, and colleagues.
  • Capable of compiling data accurately for designated management systems like Uniform and the GIS mapping system.
  • Possessing strong ICT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant software.
