Could you be a Sense Support Worker?

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team at our Sense Day service at Touchbase Pears based in Selly Oak, Birmingham.

This is a permanent role, working 6 hours per week on Saturday. You will be working shifts from 10am till 4pm.
This is a fun and rewarding opportunity to support a child with Sensory impairment needs on a 1:1 basis.

As a Support Worker, you will be supporting the individual to participate in activities they enjoy and have meaningful experiences.

You will support them to make their own choices of how they want to spend their day, but a typical day in this role might be spent:

Enjoying lights and the disco ball at the service
Going for a walk in the park
Paddling in fountains
Using the iPad and the big screens
Looking at pictures and talking about them
The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they are all treated as such.

To support individuals / groups within the centre and community.

To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.

To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.

Your required skills and experiences:


You require a full UK license and must be willing to drive your own vehicle (Mileage paid 0.45 pence per mile).

Previous experience working with people with Sensory Impairments is desirable. Why work for Sense?
