Accounts Assistant

This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm (35 hour week) and paying up to £25,000 per annum.
This role will be include Purchase and Sales Ledger duties and is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and develop your skills.
Your key duties in this Accounts Assistant role will include but are not limited to:
- Administration of the Sales Ledger, ensuring invoices are settled within relevant payment terms.
- Checking purchase orders against purchase invoices.
- Posting and allocating payments and invoices to the system.
- Reconcile supplier statements and prepare payment runs.
- Resolve statement differences with suppliers, solving problems using innovative solutions.
- Undertake daily bank reconciliation to general Ledger balances and resolve all differences.
- Maintain the customer accounts on the sales ledger.
- Carry out monthend sales ledger processes and produce month end sales reports.
- Ensure invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- To work alongside the other sales ledger administrator and be able to provide cover as and when required.
Key Competencies and Skills Required to be considered:
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy and work to tight deadlines.
- Experience in an accounts environment.
- Good time management ability, with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong IT skills
- A desire to work as part of a team, building strong internal relationships.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- AAT accountancy qualification (desirable but not essential)
