Childcare applicants must have QCF Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Learning & Development and be willing to undertake QCF Level II in Play work or CCLD if successful. Applicants must also have recent experience of working with 0-4-year-olds.

Experience Recent experience of working with 0-4-year-olds(either paid or voluntary)

Abilities Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.


Ability to work as a member of a team to contribute to the delivery of good quality play experiences for children including face to face and use of online activities.

Ability to work with parents to promote the best interests of the child.

Circumstances/Health
No health problems which would adversely affect ability to carry out all the duties of the post.

Access to transport as this post may involve travelling to various Gold Surestart Childcare sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide care and support to children who are using activities organised by G-old Community Partnership including online resources.
  • To help set up, organise and co-ordinate the running of the childcare facilities.
  • To be aware of and actively promote good childcare practice.

Duties

  • To provide childcare provision for Gold Community Partnership activities.
  • To ensure the health and safety of children in their care.
  • To be aware of and carry out duties in accordance with the policies and procedures of Gold Community Partnership, especially Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies.
  • To be aware of and respond to the emotional, recreational and physical needs of the children.
  • To actively promote nondiscriminatory practice.
  • To have a warm and approachable manner which will contribute to effective communication skills with parents regarding the wellbeing of the child.
  • To ensure childcare and related areas are prepared prior to the commencement of each session and that materials and play equipment are stored appropriately after use.
  • To regularly check toys and equipment with a view towards child safety.
  • To undertake some household and domestic duties which are appropriate to the care of children and the childcare facilities.
  • To report to Line Manager and record any incidents or concerns appropriately.
  • To work closely with all other members of staff to ensure the smooth running of the facility.
  • To inform the Early Years Coordinator of any concerns about a child.
  • To attend regular supervision, team/referral meetings and training as required.
  • To ensure Gold Community Partnership's Code of Confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
  • To respond positively to direction and supervision.
  • To communicate effectively with the local community and other agencies as appropriate.
  • To be proactive in the review of work and future planning.
  • To provide transport if required.
  • To undertake any additional duties as are reasonable.

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary:
£10.53-£10.62 per hour
