3. JOB SUMMARY


Support the Activities Coordinator in the delivery of outdoor adventurous activities and programmes as well as other administrative duties as required.


Maintenance tasks to include:

  • Maintenance of activity areas and equipment
  • Maintenance of Crawfordsburn Activity Centre site
  • Maintenance and tasks related to residential visits.


Work with Individuals and group leaders to deliver the activity in a fun, professional and positive way that will inspire youth into taking up adventure sports in a safe manner.


Other tasks requested by the Centre Manager or Activities & Programme Coordinator that may be reasonably expected of the role.


ESSENTIAL

Physical Requirements


Should be physically fit and able to carry out the duties of the post which will involve climbing walls, ladders and the lifting of equipment such as canoes and kayaks.


Attainments
Ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Good communication skills.

Ability to motivate and instruct children and adults in adventurous activity.

Attitudes
Strong work ethic.

A desire to help individuals overcome challenges both mentally and physically.

Special Circumstances
Able and willing to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Adaptability to changes in work schedule.

Willing to submit to an Enhanced AccessNI check prior to starting the job.

DESIRABLE
Experience of working in the Outdoor Industry or similar instructing posts.

NGB qualifications from the list below.

  • RCI
  • CWI
  • Archery GB
  • Sheltered water Canoe & Kayak coach
  • D1 + E
  • ERCA High Ropes
  • Orienteering Instructor
Knowledge of adventurous sports and the Governing Bodies of those sports/activities.

Knowledge of Outdoor and Scouting values and ethos.

Salary:
£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
