Job Description:


Using a suite of modern tools, the Manual Tester will play a pivotal role in helping us to ensure a high standard of quality in our products.

You will work with our product and development teams to ensure that you understand the product requirements, create appropriate test cases and have thorough test coverage.

You will estimate test effort for each product release and review test strategies to ensure that they are accurate.

You will design, maintain and execute suites of tests using Azure Microsoft Azure DevOps (Formerly TFS)


You will also be responsible for creating and reviewing defects, tracking their progress from their discovery through to their resolution, ensuring that they are adequately documented and tested.


You will initially be working with our registries products and will gain an intimate knowledge of the rules and processes that underpin each product.


Over time your role will grow and become more varied as you begin to test a larger variety of products across the NEC SWS Health range.

We are constantly developing new and cutting edge, scalable solutions and we need a highly skilled QA expert who embraces problem solving on products built with new, well-structured code as well as elements of legacy code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing Quality Assurance on the latest revisions of the software
  • Reviewing requirements and User Stories
  • Reviewing the project level test strategy
  • Creating and maintaining test data
  • Designing and executing test conditions and test cases
  • Raising bugs and liaising with the development team through to resolution
  • Setting up and configuring the testing environment and associated database(s)

Qualifications:

Required technical skills and experience

  • Experience working with databases (preferably SQL 2014 and above)
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or TFS
  • Experience developing and executing manual test cases for User Interfaces
  • Experience working with databases (preferably SQL 2014 or above)
  • Knowledge of software development in a windows environment

Required soft skills and experience

  • Clear and concise communicator
  • Able to prioritise between a number of tasks at any one time
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detailed and effective written communication skills for documenting the features tested and bugs found
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, extremely responsive
  • Be comfortable discussing technical aspects of projects with other testers, developers & business owners.
  • Be fully comfortable working remotely, yet part of a very connected team

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience testing User Interfaces and databases
  • You'll have ISTQB/ISEB Foundation certifications or equivalent certifications or be working towards achieving them.
  • Experience using virtual machines (Hyper V / Microsoft Azure)
  • Experience coordinating with external/Offshore QA resources
