Key Responsibilities

  • Perform change impact assessments, including scoping and estimation of changes, and identification of other impacted processes, functionality and applications.
  • Functional workshops with business staff in support of change requests
  • Create functional solution designs
  • Undertake SAP solution configuration and unit testing
  • Transition new solutions into support: KT to support teams, Knowledge articles etc
  • Acts as L3 escalation point – advise on / augment support team in resolution of complex Production defects (underlying incidents/problems)
  • Identification and investigation into BAU functional problems including root cause analysis
  • Support the application of upgrades, patches, & OSS notes
  • Maintenance of solution support knowledge plans

Person Specification

Technical / Professional Expertise

  • Deep experience as an SAP FICO functional consultant (minimum 7 years required) ideally within the retail industry sector.
  • Understanding of S/4- FI i.e GL, AP, VIM, EDI (Idocs), AR, Intercompany, CO, reporting and strong integration knowledge with MDG, and MM. Additionally, deep knowledge on Fiori and Solman is required.
  • Deep experience in CR delivery i.e WRICEFW object design to documentation and end to end testing.
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Sound business process knowledge .
  • Have advanced skills in Microsoft Office – especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint, to support analysis, documentation, and presentations as part of day to day role.
  • Experience with JIRA, ALM.

  • You'll have the ability to challenge the business and other stakeholders especially in areas where SAP best practice / standard SAP is not being followed.
  • Be confident in role as solution advisor, holding developers and others (e.g. test) to account on deliverables and actions relating to functional solutions.
  • Have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations/people under pressure
  • Outstanding self management , influence management , information presentation and interpersonal, communication
  • Analytical Thinking: Makes complex plans and analyses. Uses analytical techniques to break apart complex problems into component parts, identifies multiple solutions and weighs the value of each.
