To organise & manage the resources on an hourly/daily basis within the production area, ensuring the safe production of quality product whilst challenging/maximising profitability through continuous improvement.


RESULTS:

  • Communicate and consistently implement Company policies (H&S, Housekeeping etc)
  • Maximise efficiencies through agreed staffing levels
Liaise with engineering to ensure plant is operating to optimal standard and ensure action is taken as appropriate

  • Accountable for KPI's on an hourly/daily basis.
  • Use and promote CI techniques to deliver agreed KPI's
  • Manage the performance and behaviour of all team members in line with current procedures.
  • Conduct RTW interviews and disciplinary hearings
  • Conduct investigations in a timely manner (H&S, food safety, conduct issues)
  • Labour management recording of holidays etc.
  • Control breaks to maximise throughput & hygiene.
  • Ensure waste, efficiency and yield by line and action any non conformance's
  • Ensure accurate recording of all downtime and where required generate why analysis and ensure appropriate action is taken
  • Attend the daily production meeting to present a summary of the last 24 hours production
  • Input OPE information onto toolkit database at end of shift & verify
  • Propose and implement corrective actions to link in with Company Quality team activities and all audit requirements
  • Train, coach and develop all staff as required and maintain skills matrix process in conjunction with Shift Manager
  • Complete daily formal shift handover
  • Ensure Line manager is informed of any unresolved issues which may affect performance escalate departmental issues in line with current escalation procedure
  • Adhere to roles and responsibilities daily schedule
  • Carry out all responsibilities and practices with the aim of producing food safely and to required internal & external specifications within a HACCP framework
  • Any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Strong industry background or proven relevant experience, Considerable experience of the Food Industry, Previous line management experience desirable, Cost control - within agreed KPI's, people & leadership, process knowledge, tools-systems & procedures, CI, must have the ability, aptitude and potential to progress to the next level within the organisation, ability to develop, lead & motivate others

Good planning & organising skills, must be proactive with a 'can do' approach, able to make decisions under pressure, ability to influence colleagues on the acceptance of change, excellent communication skills

IT Skills:
MS Office, Navision/ATS, OPE toolkit

Salary:
£35,172.00 per year
