System Administrator in the Oracle NetSuite OpenAir Operations group

This job role is for a skilled System Administrator in the Oracle NetSuite OpenAir Operations group that is responsible for providing advanced system support in various areas such as monitoring, automation, backups, capacity/performance planning, high availability, and exploring new technologies. You will collaborate with a remote engineering team dedicated to managing the production environments of the OpenAir application and relevant tools/systems within Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure (public cloud).

We utilize:

OCI public cloud, Oracle Linux, Terraform, Foreman, Logstash, Apache, Oracle DB

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing, supporting, and securing network and server infrastructure for NetSuite OpenAir application
  • Participating in key systems enhancement projects
  • Identifying performance issues and conducting root-cause analysis
  • Monitoring and assessing availability and capacity of networks, servers operating on OCI public cloud
  • Executing general system configuration, backups, maintenance, and optimization of (mostly) Linux server infrastructure
  • Developing automation through terraform/saltstack and python/shell/bash
  • ... while prioritizing reliability & security

Qualifications we are seeking:

  • Experience in Unix System Administration, Linux Administration (any distribution), Windows knowledge is a bonus (we also handle a few windows servers)
  • Hands-on experience with public clouds like AWS, Azure, GCP; we primarily work with OCI
  • Proficiency in configuration management tools, Infrastructure as a code method, and automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
  • Database expertise in MySQL, familiarity with Oracle is beneficial
  • Scripting proficiency in Python, bash, shell, powershell, perl
  • Readiness to collaborate with a remote team
  • Availability for on-call rotations
  • Fluency in English

This role necessitates 50% presence on-site at one of our UK offices

Conduct performance trend analysis, manage server/network capacity, suggest client configurations, and implement technical solutions to improve and/or troubleshoot the system. Collaborate with others to specify and manage vendor purchase requirements. Additionally, responsible for maintaining support documentation.
