Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom OVO Energy Full time

We're making zero carbon happen
We're OVO Group, a big family of companies united by a single vision: to get to zero carbon, fast.

We call this Plan Zero - and it shows how we'll be fighting the climate crisis and transforming the way people use energy over the next decade.

To do this, we need the sharpest minds. Are you up for the challenge?

Do great green things with OVO Energy
So much has changed since we launched in 2009.

Our goal remains the same though:
make energy cheaper, greener, and simpler. Just as it was on day one.

Everyone belongs at OVO

Our aim is to build a diverse and inclusive movement: teams of brilliant people, with unique talents, skills, passions, and experiences.

We encourage everyone to join us, whatever your gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, life experience, or background. So please come as you are - we can't wait to meet you.

Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

As a Gas Industry Expert at OVO Energy you'll play a key role in allowing us to drive efficiency and excellence in the Ops space to support OVO in meeting it's Plan Zero goals.

What will I be doing?

The energy industry has changed a lot in recent years, and we don't expect that to stop any time soon.

OVO Energy is changing too - we're more than just an energy supplier, we're leading the way in showing our customers the energy world of tomorrow.

By creating innovative technology we're helping customers manage their energy better, decrease their bills and drive their electric vehicles further - all whilst improving our planet for generations to come, but these changes can't happen without a robust and efficient support structure within the business to facilitate the change and drive the innovations across the business.

In this case, that comes in the form of Industry Operations.

Within Industry Operations we need to ensure we are driving excellence in our processes, our people and our delivery and this role plays a key part in that.

You will:

  • Have detailed & robust knowledge of the Gas Industry and it's associated end to end processes.
  • Have significant understanding of roles and obligations of gas industry parties including Suppliers, Shippers, MEMs and GDNs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive business benefit through process innovation and development.
  • Manage creation of and version control of thorough documentation including process mapping, process guides and process training.
  • Work across Industry Ops and their offshore providers to aid in training and iterative upskill across the Gas space.
  • Lead the setup and coordination of quality assurance processes including QA on individual team members and overall process QA.
  • Work with Process Leads to create, monitor and understand all relevant stats associated to process success across OVO and its third party partners.
  • Identify root cause drivers of process and work with Process Leads and other stakeholders to mitigate and reduce incoming work volumes.
  • Represent Industry Ops as an expert in relevant meetings both internally and with third parties.
  • Aid Process Leads in understanding and mitigating points of process which impact our Members in a negative way or block resolution of member contact.
  • Work with industry agents and partners where relevant to drive Ovo's best practice and performance against industry standards.
  • Keep up to date with latest Industry regs, process changes and upcoming innovations.
  • Step in to cover for Process Leads where required.

Is this the job for me?
Essential skills and experience...

  • Ability to manage your own workload and time effectively
  • Deep understanding of how the wider Industry processes fit together to form Industry Ops
  • Have proven track record of working in an Energy Supply Industry department
  • Proven ability to engage productively with internal and external stakeholders
