Part-Time Faculty position - Composition

Discipline:
English Composition

Department:
Language and Literature

Campuses:
Newtown, Upper Bucks, Lower Bucks, Online/Remote

Part-time faculty position to teach all levels of English Composition courses on campus during the day. Classes could be at Newtown, Bristol, Perkasie campus locations, online, or remote.

The Part-time Composition faculty will plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction based on the approved course outline by selecting and utilizing a variety of approved course materials.

The faculty member will employ teaching methods that address all learning modalities to ensure that the needs of individual students are met.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in English or closely related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Community College teaching experience 13 years of relevant teaching experience

Major Job Duties:

  • Knowledge of course development, instruction, and evaluation. Knowledgeable in student learning using appropriate methods.
  • Conduct an engaging classroom based on the course outline.
  • Motivate students by demonstrating sensitivity to concerns and actively involving students in classroom discussions and/or activities.
  • Make arrangements for equipment and supplies, or other activities as needed.
  • Complete all course assessments as required.
  • Use technology to enhance teaching/learning in the classroom.
  • Participating in the assessment process
  • Maintaining current knowledge of the professional discipline
  • Maintaining appropriate expertise and competence through continuing professional development
  • Attend Fall-Inservice session and professional development requirement.
