PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The overall purpose of the role is to scope, collect, view, assess and investigate data in various forms, maintaining viewing logs and case files to produce and provide an evidential product for use in court.

The CCTV Investigator will provide evidence in court when required and will manage a team of 3 Junior Analysts

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Colleague Safety

• Follow Company Policy on colleague safety and ensure the safety of staff and visitors to any site where deployed
• Ensure any and all store specific safety instructions / procedures are followed at all times
• Maintain online anonymity to ensure personal safety when conducting online investigations

Store Specific Key Tasks

• Review Incident Reports in order to identify Suspects / Vehicles / Events relevant to Crime Trial Investigations.
• Review CCTV footage and record / store relevant images or files for use in case building that assist in potential criminal prosecutions / Police action.
• Evaluate and abstract data in order to assist in investigations, providing regular business insights into the Client and Governance sessions, assisting in the direction of Crime Trial activity.
• Liaise with any applicable stores, SOS and BCRP Managers linked to investigations. This may also include the Police, Crime Initiative Schemes, CPS, Immigration or other such organisations.
• Act as an initial point of contact for the Crime Trial as needed.
• Provide live response and support to Store deployed officers within Stores when necessary

Reporting and Communications

• Ensure all incidents are reported in an accurate and timely manner using the mechanisms provided
• Make recommendations to TSS and Boots management of strategies and approaches that will support the trial, reduce losses / improve safety on site
• Ensure that Police Witness Statements (MG11) are completed in the appropriate manner such that they can be used in court prosecutions
• Actively share intelligence with TSS Crime Hub to help target organised Crime Gangs.
• Check that all issued equipment is working properly. Any faults need to be reported in the appropriate manner

Data Interpretation

• Understand incident data and make recommendations based on this
• Take an active part in store investigations
• Experienced in using analytical tools

Proactive, Flexible Security Provision

• Be flexible in terms of location, hours and duties to be able to be assigned to areas of current concern. Duties may vary depending upon Crime Trial operations
• Working with your line manager formulate a forward plan of planned activity based around the current issues / incidents being reported
• Show flexibility to deviate from formulated plans based on immediate operational needs
• Be in constant communication with TSS such that changes to duties, working times and location can be made to best meet the operational needs of the business.

Use of Equipment
Ensure all equipment in the use of you and your team is always maintained and kept safe with any issues being reported to your line manager immediately

• Ensure all equipment is only used for the express purpose of the business
• Be compliant with the all GDPR and DPIA agreements.

Health, Safety and Legislation

• Ensure that direct reports work in line with all appropriate legislation. This includes (but is not limited to) The Police and Criminal Evidence Act and the Health and Safety at Work Act
• Ensure all potential and actual accidents & incidents are reported in a timely manner using the appropriate company systems and any training advised

General:

• Strong written English (evidenced as part of interview process)
• Ability to navigate CCTV systems
• Understanding of ASCONE
• Partner with the TSS management team and Crime Hub in order to continually improve the service offering to the client
• Show a level of flexibility and be able to adapt to new requests outside of the core role on request.
• Ensure all requests are responded to in a timely manner
• Ensuring systems and software processed and inputted is in accordance with GDPR.
• Any other reasonable duties as required by your Line Manager
