Sellick Partnership is currently looking for an Education Lawyer to join a friendly and well-respected local authority in the North West. The position offers a mix of remote and office work, providing flexibility to the right candidate. This opportunity, set for a period of 3 to 6 months, comes as the council is in the process of permanent recruitment.
The organization has experienced a significant increase in Special Educational Needs (SEN) cases, making it desirable for the ideal candidate to have expertise in this area and be able to start contributing effectively from day one. Some key responsibilities of the Education Lawyer include:
- Handling a caseload of intricate cases, predominantly focused on SEN admission appeals, with minimal oversight
- Offering advice on Education law in a comprehensive manner, which involves preparing legal actions concerning Schools, Academies, parents, and students. This encompasses providing guidance on parental restrictions, exclusions, bias issues, and other education-related legal concerns
- Demonstrating the ability to manage a significant workload, frequently operating under tight deadlines and with short notice
The ideal Education Lawyer for this role will possess a background in delivering expert advice on Education-related topics. While previous experience in Local Government would be advantageous, it is not mandatory.
The successful candidate would ideally be available to work full-time; however, those seeking a part-time arrangement will also be taken into account.
